DNF.
Ken Liu’s The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories is one of my favorite short-story collections (S tier!), so I was surprised that this book didn’t work for me at all. I didn’t like the writing (too much tell, not enough show), the characters felt wooden, the dialog was stilted, and the plot was boring. I gave up about 20% of the way through.
