In the 14th book of this series, Inspector Gamache is named as an executor in a will. The only problem is that it’s the will of a complete stranger that he has never met in his life. When he goes to the will reading, he finds two other people who have also been called as executors, and who also have never heard of this person. It’s a unique start to a quirky mystery, and another decent entry in the Gamache series.
Once again, we get to spend some time in the cozy village of Three Pines, and the hilarious cast of characters, including Myrna, Ruth, and Clara. Jean-Guy is back and overly dramatic as always. Also, this story picks up some of the loose ends from the previous book, Glass Houses, dealing with some of the fallout of the missing shipment of opioids.
Overall, it’s another solid read in the series. On to the next one!
