Billionaire and fugitive Russell Pickett has disappeared, and there’s a $100K reward for any information leading to his arrest. Aza, a 16-year-old girl with OCD who used to be friends with Russell’s son Davis, teams up with her best friend Daisy to investigate the disappearance. The result is a reasonably interesting mystery that dives into themes of anxiety, love & loss, coming of age, and friendship.
As seems to be the case with almost all of John Green’s books, this story focuses on teens who are forced to deal with tragedy and adult problems. It’s not as moving or powerful as The Fault in our Stars, but like that book, it has great characters, a little bit of humor, a little bit of romance, and some sad and dark themes. Overall, a worthy read.
