'Traitor' by Tom Wood
'Traitor' by Tom Wood

First, Victor is ambushed by a team of hitmen. He survives, only to immediately be arrested for a murder he didn’t commit. Someone has betrayed him, and he spends the rest of the story trying to figure out who that is, leaving countless bodies in his wake. Unlike the previous book in this series, where Victor did a somewhat unsuccessful impersonation of Jack Reacher, this book returns him back to his hitman roots, and is a lot more entertaining.

There isn’t much new here, but if you’re reading the 10th book in the series, that shouldn’t be much of a disappointment. Victor is back, and as cold, calculating, and lethal as ever. It’s fun competence porn, with some good action scenes, plot twists, and a reasonably satisfying ending. On to the next one!
