A decent, but not great, conclusion to the series. What made the first two books so enjoyable was the focus on (a) scythes and (b) Rowan, Citra, Curie, and Faraday in particular. This third book spends most of its time with the Tonists, the Toll, Goddard, Nimbus agents, and just about everyone other than the characters that made the first books work. The main characters do appear in this book, of course, but it feels like they are almost secondary. The parts with the Tonists and their ludicrous beliefs are especially annoying. Nevertheless, this book does wrap up the entire series and just about all the major plot points, mostly in reasonable ways.
