The good
-
Fun setting: turn-of-the-century London, just as society is reeling from Jack the Ripper, more serial killers start to appear, and the police are forced to deal with this new, unprecedented threat.
-
I enjoyed seeing the police develop new techniques and tools, such as fingerprint analysis. It’s fun to realize that the way police and detective approach their work is something that had to be developed over many years (and is no doubt still evolving now).

Interesting characters.
The not so good
- There wasn’t much detective work or many deductions in this mystery story. The mystery does get solved, but almost by accident, rather than through careful police work.
