The good
-
A reasonable conclusion that wraps up all the major mysteries and plot lines in the story.
-
A few glimpses of good writing.
The not so good
-
The way many of the plot lines are wrapped up is a little too simple. The book relies way too much on Ingold being all powerful. He more or less single-handedly resolves everything.
-
The love stories didn’t work for me. Not one of them. Especially the last one. They felt contrived and weird.
-
The book doesn’t take any risks. None of the important characters die or ever feel like they are really at risk, so there’s not much suspense.
