The good
- Very fun premise: ancient Greek mythology is alive and real in modern times. Seeing all the characters of ancient myth walking around the US is great; Zeus in a pinstripe suit and Ares riding a Harley is just awesome.
The not so good
- This isn’t even young adult, but clearly a story for children: think ages 8-12. If you’re in middle school, it’s perfect. If you’re an adult, you’ll find the writing and plot to be very simplistic, and some of the dialog is a real chore to get through.
That said, I’ve heard the later books become a bit more mature, so I may soldier through one or two more, as the premise is genuinely fun.
