Review: The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham

The good

• The core premise is intriguing: what happens when almost everyone on earth goes blind?

• A number of interesting concepts: post-apocalyptic society; walking, carnivorous plants called Triffids; the cause of the blindness (which I’ll leave out to avoid spoilers); etc.

• Decent pacing and action.

The not so good

• The characters are mostly flat tropes: the heroic male protagonist; the damsel in distress; etc.
