The good
-
A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy that wraps up most of the loose ends.
-
The characters are terrific: deep and largely unpredictable.
-
Lots of epic battles and clever political intrigue.
-
Good writing, with fun dialogs.
-
A rich world that borrows some elements from other fantasy stories, but also introduces a lot of its own unique flavor.
-
An unusual take on good and evil, where you’re never quite sure if you’re rooting for the good guy or the bad guy.
The not so good
- The final twist is a little too convenient, to the point it starts to defy believability… But it’s a fantasy story, so it’s hardly the most unbelievable item.
