A fun, fast-paced, action / sci-fi story. It takes a look at war in the near future, with soldiers using robotic exoskeleton frames, drones that fly overhead to provide intel, eye implants that overlay data (including the status of all their team members, targets to aim at, locations to go to) into the soldier’s field of view, brain implants that help soldiers regulate their emotions and maintain self control, and lots of other fancy tech. You’ve probably seen much of this in video games, but it seems plausible we’ll see this sort of thing in the real world in the next decade or two. Combine all this tech with a vast, global conspiracy and you’re off to the races, with nearly non-stop action and only occasional pauses for a little bit of political commentary, banter between soldiers, and sex. Looking forward to book #2.
