The good
- Well written
- Full of fun characters (Croup, Vandemar, the Marquis)
- Imaginative
- Keeps you turning the pages.
The not so good
- Too much poorly defined magic, so there is a “deus ex machina” way out of every situation, and you never feel like there’s much at stake. I guess that’s pretty typical for the fantasy genre tough.
Overall
An entertaining, quick read, that probably won’t stick with you for too long.
