Review: Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn

I listened to the audiobook version of this book and it felt just like watching (err, hearing) the next chapter in the Star Wars universe. All the characters you love–Luke, Han, Leia, etc–are there and they feel (and sound) like themselves. There is a badass new villain named Admiral Thrawn who has Sherlock Holmes-like (or perhaps, Moriarty-like) deduction skills, a ton of action, X-Wings, light sabers, clever banter, and everything else you could possibly want. In short, if you like Star Wars, read (or listen) to this.
