When I read The Icarus Hunt, I remember thinking that it was a shame that it wasn’t part of a book series. Well, now it is! The Icarus Hunt now serves as a prequel, and this book is the first entry in a new series.
Unfortunately, this book mostly focuses on a different set of characters than The Icarus Hunt. It’s the same world, and eventually, you get to see how it connects to the events and characters of the previous book, but a large part of this one has a different focus. The new characters are decent, and there’s some fun new tech, but the mystery, deductions, and action didn’t quite match up to book one.
That said, while it doesn’t quite hit the highs of the previous book, it’s still a worthwhile read, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
