Review: The Mercy of Gods by James S.A. Corey

The good

• Good writing.

• Aliens that aren’t all humanoids, both in appearance, and thinking. This is hard to do, but makes the story much more compelling.

• An intriguing larger mystery.

The not so good

• This first book feels like a tiny little intro to the story that barely advanced the plot at all and resolved nothing.

• The characters aren’t as fun and interesting as in The Expanse (which I loved).
