'Truly, Devious' by Maureen Johnson
'Truly, Devious' by Maureen Johnson

The good

  • Interesting setting: a school for gift kids, both in the present day, plus flashbacks to the same school in the 1930s.

  • Decent murder mystery, decent deduction work.

  • Decent characters.

The not so good

  • It’s a Young Adult book, so it has the usual high school angst mixed in.

  • Ends on a cliff hanger without resolving the central mystery.
