The good
-
A satisfying conclusion to the series that ties up most of the loose ends. The story comes full circle.
-
The finale has a sense of epic scale.
-
We get to see our favorite characters one more time.
-
Introduces one new badass character who is fun to watch.
The not so good
-
In a series that is 9 (!) books long, and has delightfully taken its time to deeply explore really interesting topics, something about this last one felt slightly rushed: as if the primary goal was to be done, rather than to tell the story.
-
We don’t get as many interactions with our favorite characters as in the previous books. That makes it all the more melancholy to say goodbye.
-
Although the loose ends are mostly wrapped up, I found myself wishing we got a tiny bit more detail on some of them.
