Review: The 50 Funniest American Writers by Andy Borowitz

I really hope these aren’t the 50 funniest American writers, or the country is in real trouble. Of the 50 stories in here, I’d say that roughly:

• 5 are actually funny
• 5 are not funny, but entertaining and readable
• 40 are a mix of boring, bizarre, decidedly unfunny, or so bad I couldn’t even finish them

So as far as hit or miss ratios go, this book doesn’t fare well.
