The good
- Beautiful writing.
- Tragic story.
- Powerful themes: sacrificing for your children and then trying to live life through them; trying to fit in a society that fears all differences (race, gender, etc); all that is unsaid between loved ones.
The not so good
- The characters in the story were a mixed bag. They sometimes felt more like convenient plot devices or a mouthpiece for the author than real people.
Overall
Well worth reading.
