'Night Fall' by Nelson DeMille
'Night Fall' by Nelson DeMille

I’m a bit torn on this one. On the one hand, it involves a real-world mystery (the crash of TWA flight 800), lots of interesting detective work, and the typical John Corey humor and wit. On the other hand, it has a surprising, but ultimately disappointing ending that leaves you hanging. DeMille himself admits that he wrote himself into a corner, so just as the story is reaching its climax, it suddenly ends, without answering any of the big questions.
