'Plum Island' by Nelson DeMille
'Plum Island' by Nelson DeMille

The good:

  • It’s a decent mystery story
  • There are several fun characters
  • The writing is OK
  • It’s fun to “hang out” with the lead character, John Corey
  • The book is generally entertaining, and I usually looked forward to picking it up

The not so good:

  • Some aspects of the book seem like they were written by a 15 year old boy: e.g., every single woman in the entire story, without exception, is attractive, and many of them immediately want to sleep with John Corey
  • The “big reveal” is obvious halfway through, but the book drags it out
  • The ending drags on and feels a bit unnecessary
