It’s a Dan Brown book. If you’ve read one, you’ve read them all. He’s good at creating suspense, fun action scenes, and touching on semi-controversial, world-ending topics. He’s also a decent travel guide, with this book in particular being a whirlwind tour of Florence, Venice, and Istanbul. But the characters are terrible, the plot is overly elaborate, and the ending in this one was fairly predictable. Good popcorn reading when you’re on a plane, and completely forgettable 5 minutes after you finish it.
