'Elon Musk' by Ashlee Vance
'Elon Musk' by Ashlee Vance

A quick, fun read on, arguably, the most successful and important entrepreneur of all time. The writing is good, but not great; the stories and insider look you get are good, but not great; and overall, the book is worth reading not for the prose or narrative structure, but because it’s about Elon Musk, and Elon Musk is a remarkable human being.

Musk is responsible for three of the most important modern companies: Space X, Tesla, and Solar City. He seems to have super-human stamina, memory, vision, risk tolerance, and ability to get things done. His ability to focus on what truly matters for all of humanity and to do the seemingly-impossible is inspiring.

That said, after reading this book, you also can’t help but think that was he has done so far is just the beginning, and that a new biography in 20-30 years will tell a very different and perhaps even more extraordinary story.
